With its wooden and terracota tile flooring, lack of television reception and cosy multifuel stove heating, it provides a wonderful opportunity to step back into a more peaceful, traditional way of life. Lovely beaches and a stunning coastline are a joy for walkers and nature lovers to explore in all weathers, the region’s dolphin, whale and seal watching boat trips are popular and day trips might include visits to the Castle of Mey – home of the late Queen Mother – and to John O’Groats. Shop and pub serving food 3 miles.

Reviews
The quality of complete quiet and peace in the cottage is wonderful. You can easily walk to the sea in 5 min and the local beach in 10min, and there are a number of other beaches within a 10 min drive. The cottage is lovely and warm when the fire is on, which is great when you want to hide away from it all and relax. There are also electric heaters if needed. The lady who is in charge of the cottage, is lovely and very helpful if you have any difficulties or queries. The bedding is duck down and very warm, and there is a double duvet which you can divide into two if you are too warm. The down filling may be troublesome if you have an allergy to feathers.
